Another view of the same kitchen, showing the subtle variegated colouring within the slate flagstones used throughout the entrance hall and kitchen/breakfast room. The unfitted French oak kitchen provides a dramatic statement without losing the homely country feel requested by the clients, who utilised our Design Service to help them achieve their dream room.

A total redesign of this elegant farmhouse style kitchen/breakfast room. The appealing slate floor provides a practical non-slip surface underfoot, important in a family home - it also adds warmth and a rustic element to a room which could otherwise have seemed slightly clinical. Beautiful handmade and hand painted wall tiles by Alice Gibbons from the Natural History tile collection add a beautifully quirky link with the owner's holiday home in the south of France, surrounded by olive trees!

Traditionally handmade tiles from Spain surround the new Aga Six-Four oven chosen for it's modern practicality yet traditional looks for this remodelled family kitchen. The slate flagstones used on a previously carpeted floor are warmed with sole-source underfloor heating thus eliminating the need for wall mounted radiators. Simple colours used throughout the home were carefully selected from the beautifully matt and chalky Farrow & Ball range.
